It was learned on Tuesday that nine players would be suspended for Thursday’s game against Delaware due to a violation of team rules.
ASU has a deep roster but the loss of nine players will pose a big challenge for the ASU Sun Devils to remain unbeaten. AS of right now the team is not going call up any players from their DII team That means ASU will play with 10 forwards and five defensemen in Thursday’s game.
The players are all expected to be back with the D1 team at some point by this weekend or next.
ASU will host Delaware on Thursday, now ranked No. 7 in the ACHA for a two-game series. The Delaware Blue Hens are 8-1-0 on the year with their most recent game against Robert Morris accounting for their lone loss.
The ASU Sun Devils could not afford to under-estimate the Blue Hens befores the suspensions. They were the ACHA national champions two seasons ago.
Thursday’s game begins at 8 p.m. and Friday’s game at 7:30 p.m.
