Things about the Arizona Coyotes and the NHL that crossed my mind this past week –
Some random facts and a few thoughts from this past week about the National Hockey League and our Arizona Coyotes.
1. The Arizona Coyotes had a 1-3-0 record this week … 2 out of 8 points!
2. I don’t think or I can’t remember the last time the Coyotes played home games on back to back nights. It happens on the road all the time but almost never at home!
3. I feel sorry for the guy that is responsible for the game-day programs at Yotes games. It’s like a revolving door with different players back and forth from the AHL’s Portland Pirates.
4. The Nashville Predators traded Olli Jokinen to Toronto this weekend making this his 9th NHL team.
5. When the Arizona Coyotes trade Antoine Vermette before the trade deadline, they are going to be very thin at the center position.
6. The Arizona Coyotes are in a dog fight in the “Connor McDavid/Jack Eichel Sweepstakes” also known as the 2015 NHL Entry Draft. The Toronto Maple Leafs have now become contenders in this epic battle!
7. Martin Hanzal is having back surgery and will be out for the remainder of this season. Good Luck Marty! (see #5)
8. Only 15 more days to the NHL Trade Deadline.
9. Fact: Olli Jokinen has played in 1217 regular season games and only 6 playoff games …. hmmmm! (see #4)
10. The more I see Lucas Lessio play the more I like him. He looks like a keeper for next year.
11. The Good News: The Arizona Coyotes PP is ranked #5 running at 22.4%.
12. The Bad News: The Arizona Coyotes PK dropped to #27 at 78.1%.
LET’S GO YOTES
