Things about the Arizona Coyotes and the NHL  that crossed my mind this past week –

Some random facts and a few thoughts from this past week about the National Hockey League and our Arizona Coyotes.

1.  The Arizona Coyotes had a 1-2-0 record this week … 2 points!

2.  Congrats to OEL for tying Phil Housley’s franchise record for goals by a defenceman with his 23rd!

3.  Mark Arcobello scored 8 goals and 7 assists for 15 points in his first 50 games with Edmonton, Nashville, and Pittsburgh while scoring 9 goals and 7 assists for 16 points with the Coyotes in only 24 games.

4.  Mercifully, the Coyotes play their final 3 games of the 2014-15 season this week ending a season to forget.

5. The Coyotes can have some fun this week by playing spoiler in beating the Calgary Flames and Vancouver Canucks this week.

6.  The Arizona Coyotes are still in the 2nd to last position in the “Connor McDavid/Jack Eichel Sweepstakes” also known as the 2015 NHL Entry Draft.

7.  Reminder:  The official Draft Lottery is being held on April 18 … it could be a HUGE day in Coyotes franchise history!

8.  This season still has one week left for the Yotes and I can hardly wait for the 2015 NHL Entry Draft, July 1st Free Agency, off-season moves by Don Maloney, and 2015-16 training camp.  I’m very excited to see next years team.

9.  I like the looks of the Coyotes young blue-line going into next season lead by OEL.  Connor Murphy has made some great strides.  Michael Stone, Klas Dahlbeck, Brandon Gormley, John Moore, and Andrew Campbell all look like keepers.

10.  I’m guessing this season isn’t what Shane Doan and Dave Tippett had in mind especially when they missed the playoffs last season by ONLY 1 point!

11.  Mikkel Boedker will be looking for a big raise this off-season.

12.  Players on the current Coyotes I don’t expect to see back next year:  Erat, Moss, Cunningham, McGinn, Szwarz, and Crombeen.  How about you Coyotes fans?  It’s time for some new blood!

13.  It looks like Marc Arcobello may have earned himself a contract with the Arizona Coyotes for next season.  I’d like to see him back.  How about you, Yotes fans?  (see #3)

14.  PP update:  The Arizona Coyotes PP is still ranked #7 this week running at 20.6%.

15.  PK update:  The Arizona Coyotes PK dropped one spot to #27 place ranked at 77.2%.

LET’S GO YOTES

If you have any thoughts on any of these questions please let me know.

Thanks, Mitch
