Things about the Arizona Coyotes and the NHL  that crossed my mind this past week –

Some random facts and a few thoughts from this past week about the National Hockey League and our Arizona Coyotes.

1.  The Arizona Coyotes had a 1-2-0 record this week … 2 points!

2.  The Coyotes ended a 10 game losing streak with a 3-2 shootout win over Vancouver on Thursday night.

3.  If you haven’t seen this yet, check it out.  I rated Don Maloney’s NHL Trade Deadline deals here ☛ ☛ http://arizonahockeytalk.com

4.  To all my American friends that say “curling is boring” have you seen the Nashville Predators or Minnesota Wild play hockey?

5.  I wonder who is going to be Mike Smith’s back-up next season?

6.  The Arizona Coyotes are 2 points out of 2nd last position in the “Connor McDavid/Jack Eichel Sweepstakes” also known as the 2015 NHL Entry Draft.

9 mar wildcard7.  Does Shane Doan finish next season as an Arizona Coyote?

8.  At times, it looks like OEL has picked up a lot of Keith Yandle’s bad habits!

9.  I wonder if Dave Tippett has a rebuild in him or will he exercise his “out” and move on?  I think he stays.  The future looks bright and you can’t beat Arizona’s weather!

10.  The Coyotes are going to have to spend some money this off-season to reach the salary cap floor.  I wonder who’s on their wish list?  It’s not a great UFA pool this year.  Maybe they should have re-signed Antoine Vermette!

11.  I don’t know about you but I liked the Coyotes throwback jerseys.  It actually made them look bigger and tougher!

12.  PP update:  The Arizona Coyotes PP dropped one spot and is now ranked #6 at 21.0%.

13.  PK update:  The Arizona Coyotes PK moved up one spot and is now ranked #26 at 77.9%.

LET’S GO YOTES

If you have any thoughts on any of these questions please let me know.

Thanks, Mitch

  1. Robert Lee says:

We will see from here to the end of the season if the fans will be there.
From here on out only the fans can change the laughter coming from up north by showing up to the games and adding to those attendance figures.
Looking at ticketmaster for tonight’s Predators game and next Saturdays Devils game , it looks like too many are bending over and dropping their pants
If all Coyote fans decide here and now to make our way to the arena on game nights..the numbers could be acceptable.
If not it falls right into those hockey bloggers up north who are even right now tuning their instruments in anticipation that the bandwagon Coyote fans won’t show and those bloggers will sing their song
    You can bet on that!
    See everyone at the arena!
