The Arizona Coyotes had some good, bad, and ugly moments this week –
Each week we will list some of the “Good, the Bad, and the Ugly” from the previous week in the land of the Arizona Coyotes and also from the National Hockey League.
The Good
The Arizona Coyotes swept their tough, three games in four nights home-stand, and received excellent goaltending from Mike Smith and Anders Lindback in these three games. With these three victories the Yotes improved their record to 13-9-1 and remain right in the thick of things in the Pacific Division. Even the most optimistic Coyotes fan must be a little surprised.
The Bad
The Coyotes giving the Calgary Flames SIX powerplay opportunities on Friday night and although they won this game you will not beat very many NHL teams playing short-handed that many times. It’s hard on the penalty killers and on the the goaltenders. Also, the top players on most teams don’t usually kill penalties so they are sitting on the bench while the PK unit is on the ice..
The Ugly
Brandon Dubinsky’s cross-checks (plural) on Sidney Crosby and the NHL’s gutless 1-game suspension! Way to protect your superstars GARY! Dustin Byfuglien of the Winnipeg Jets received a 4-game suspension for a similar hit on New York Rangers forward J.T. Miller last season.
