Random Thoughts On The Arizona Coyotes: Dec. 1

Things about the Arizona Coyotes and the NHL  that crossed my mind this past week –

Some of the things that rattled through my head about the NHL and our Arizona Coyotes this past week.

1.  The Arizona Coyotes finished this past week with a 0-1-1 record.  Thoughts?

2.  Devan Dubnyk lost his first game in regulation time Saturday night vs Calgary.

3.  The Coyotes have just flat out stopped scoring and their PP is drying up also.  Not good.

4.  Congrats to Brendan Shinnimin on playing in his first NHL game on Saturday night vs Calgary.

5.  Would somebody please tell the Coyotes defencemen that they can actually knock somebody over in those goal-mouth scrambles in front of their net!

at Honda Center on September 23, 2014 in Anaheim, California.

6.  Mikkel Boedker needs to start driving to the net instead of figure skating around the perimeter all game.  It is getting tiresome.

7.  The Coyotes continue to dominate in the face-off circle night after night.

8.  I wonder how the Washington Capitals feel about the Martin Erat/Filip Forsberg trade today?

9.  The Coyotes defencemen are not making themselves very hard to play against … no physicality whatsoever.  (see #5)

10.  I wonder how many hockey observers had the Nashville Predators in 1st place in the Western Conference at Thanksgiving?

If you have any thoughts on any of these questions please let me know.

Thanks-you, Mitch

  1. Robert Lee says

I think the play of both Dubnyk and Smith has been very good of late .
Erat too. And Tobias may be our first crowd draw which is the most important thing to me.
    Looking forward to tonight’s game.
Slot of momentum can be gained from beating Calgary.

    • Mitch Kasprick says

How do you think the Oilers feel about letting Rieder get away?

      • I think every team let’s a few slip away in the early stages of a career much to their dismay.
I’m sure glad we got him though and already I think will be a fan draw.
